Housing Choice Voucher Program

Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program

The mission of the Housing Choice Division is to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing in a professional environment with the delivery of outstanding customer service.

NOTICE!
The Housing Authority of DeKalb County (HADC) is reinstating its Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Program. If you are a current HADC voucher holder and are interested in participating in the program, link here to download a Statement of Interest Form.

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program is administered locally by HADC with program funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a federally funded program offering much needed rental assistance to low-income families through the issuance of housing vouchers.

HADC is the third largest HCV Program in the state of Georgia behind the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and the Atlanta Housing Authority. HADC administers a combined total of over 5,500 Housing Choice Vouchers. The wait list is currently closed.

In addition to our special programs, we also provide information for HCV Owners and Participants. Use these quick links to access information on income limits, payment standards, and utility allowances.
